Christine Lapointe & Laura Jackson
Laura Jackson, Co-Founder of Aesthetics 360, lost her battle to cancer December 15, 2016. A true warrior, Laura continued to work and receive treatments for cancer for almost seven years, always keeping her family, friends, and customer’s needs ahead of her own. Laura’s work was her passion and what gave her purpose, but it never got in the way of making time for her family and friends. She was imaginative, inspired and strategic. It was this winning combination that made her a perfect match for a business partner and friend. It was an honor to create this company with such a talented and beautiful soul and I am so grateful she could see our dream become a reality before she left us all too soon. I will miss my partner, and sweet friend.

I had the pleasure of working with Laura at VISX for several years. Always enthusiastic and informed, she was a true expert in business development for the laser vision correction It was so much fun working with her in Chicago. She made everything seem easy and fun. Nothing upset her.
In the last few years I again had the chance to work with her. A true expert! If I had to describe Laura in one word, I couldn’t. But in a few: Classic, funny, pretty, smart and lovely.
In part, in one of the last messages from her she shared her beautiful wisdom: “I’m just trying to make each day count and realize what a lucky girl I am to have people in my life like you”.
For all of us who knew her: Laura, we realize how lucky we were to have you in our lives.

We meet many people in this industry. As we all know, people come into Ophthalmology and tend to stay. They may switch companies from time to time, but the faces remain the same. For this reason, we tend to develop relationships with our colleagues that goes beyond just a casual friendship and “facebook like”. We create relationships and true care and feelings for each other. Laura was one of those people that lit up a room every time you saw her. Her smile and energy could make al of the stress go away, even if for a minute. She will be missed dearly. God Speed my friend, until we meet again…

What a kind, positive and energetic soul Laura was to be around. I’ll always remember her sparkling eyes and warm smile, as she asked me if I brought some Turkish delights with me…Rest in peace Laura.

Very sad. Laura was so instrumental in helping us establish the Regina clinic. She will be missed.
Laura was a wonderful friend and business associate for many years. Her brilliant smile always lit up a room and her willingness to listen and help in any instance made her a popular girl!
There are many memories but my favorite are the spas days in Colorado where we had great hearts to hearts in the sauna and our last time together in January when we shared a “big ole Texas steak” to celebrate a successful presentation!
I will miss you Laura – but take great comfort in knowing that “he has covered you with his feathers, and under his wings you have found refuge, his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart”

Very sad news. I only had a chance to meet Laura once, but was very impressed by her. She did seem like a really great lady.

She set a high standard for all our subsequent clinic directors to follow. Very sad news.

Horizon Laser Vision Center extends our sympathy at the passing of Laura, your business partner. Laura was one of the Clinic Directors at the Saskatoon Clinic, taking over that role shortly after Horizon Saskatoon opened in 1996. She assisted in the opening of the Regina Clinic in 1997. Her organizational skills, guidance and knowledge were instrumental in the company’s success. She worked with the surgeons, the Board of Directors and all of the referring optometrists to ensure the very best care for the patients. We wished her well in her subsequent positions with Visx and AMO. In the last few years, we re-connected with her company Aesthetics 360. She knew our model and she knew the surgeons; so was helping Horizon streamline some of the business processes and marketing initiatives. We admired her talent in business and were eager for the advice she would bring. Over the years many friendships were created that continued to her passing and we are all feeling the loss of this honest and friendly lady. Thanks for all you did for Horizon, Laura, Rest in Peace.
